Hotels like the Kameha Grand — a member of the Autograph Collection — are really helping to inject a bit of ‘wow’ factor into Zurich. Interiors by Marcel Wanders are brash, bold and unforgettable.
My sizeable room couldn’t be better — the Ghostwriter Suite is perfect for real and aspiring writers. There’s a typewriter, book-themed furniture and rugs, as well as a library with plenty of books to keep you entertained.
Dining options are varied, which is useful as the hotel is in an area under development, a little way from the city centre, though there’s a tram stop right outside so getting around isn’t a problem.
Service is crisp and friendly and there’s also a spa available. A staff member can even drive you to the airport in the hotel’s own Maserati. Kameha Grand isn’t just one of the top boutique hotels in Zurich, it’s one of the best hotels in the city, period.
